Benzanilides efficiently undergo diarylation upon treatment with aryl triflates or bromides in the presence of a palladium-based catalyst system to give the corresponding N-(2,6-diarylbenzoyl)anilines in good to excellent yields. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
