Reliability analysis of two-way reinforced concrete slabs

摘要
Reliability analysis of two-way reinforced concrete flat plate slabs was performed. The design moments were determined using a direct design method as outlined in ACI 318. The concrete section and reinforcement were selected based on these design moments. Reliability indices were computed for each design. Slabs with short span length of 15 R. and 20 fr., span ratios ranging from 1.0 to 2.0, and live load to dead load ratios of 0.5 to 2.0 were considered. In general, the reliability index of these two-way slabs ranges from 3.0 to 4.0.
