The dispersion relation for a granular bed with a small amount of fine bubbles is formulated and analyzed. It is assumed that the grain size is much larger than the bubble's radius and that their volume concentration is small. The study is motivated by the problem of acoustic diagnostics of fixed bed chemical reactors operating in multiphase flow regime. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
