In the article 'Motion of the gyroscope with equal conserved angular momenta' (Tanriverdi 2020 Eur. J. Phys. 41 025004), we have mentioned that spin reversal is possible, but it is only possible for a 'pseudotop' or 'mathematical top', not for a physical top.
