摘要
The design of abiogenic polymeric structures, which was based on hydrocarbon backbones, was described. The nonhemolytic abiogenic polymers was found to mimic the facially amphiphilic (FA) structure and biological properties of the antimicrobial peptides. The selectivity between bacteria and RBCs in FA structures with MW polydispersity was also investigated. The selectivity of the peptides such as magainin was found to originate from the overall hydrophobic moment and charge density of the structure as well as the differences between bacterial and mammalian cell membranes.
