AZ91D magnesium alloy was micro-arc oxidated in aluminate electrolyte. The effect of anode voltage and oxidation time on surface morphology, structure, thickness and corrosion resistance of the micro-arc oxidation film was investigated. The results show that the corrosion resistance of the micro-arc oxidation film increases with increasing of the anode voltage and oxidation time. The film thickness is 3 similar to 31 mu m. The maximum bonding strength between the substrate and the film is 42 MPa.
