摘要
Stress and trauma are ubiquitous for nearly every person. Individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, those with mental or physical health problems, and those who live or work in high-risk environments (e.g., military, refugees, inner city violence) frequently experience multiple stressful or traumatic events in their lives. Adversity and suffering have become universal phenomenon in human history. COVID-19 reminded us of the fragility of human life and the large-scale nature of threatening events that can occur outside of one’s locus of control. © 2022 American Psychological Association
