摘要
Many conditions can cause chorea, usually as an exceptional or occasional manifestation. Tardive dyskinesia induced by drugs is the most common form of chorea due to an exogenous cause. Inherited causes of chorea other than Huntington's disease are discussed herein. Pathologic changes are not consistently correlated with clinical manifestations. When present, structural alterations consist in striatal lesions of variable severity. Advances in neurochemistry and neurogenetics can be expected to lead to better discrimination between the various entities associated with chorea.
