Existence of two length scales in critical scattering in CeAl2

摘要
We have investigated the critical scattering in the incommensurate Kondo lattice compound CeAl2. Q-scans at T greater than or equal to T-N show the existence of two length scales associated with two different critical exponents. The broad component is shifted towards the commensurate position. Assuming that the narrow component is of magnetic origin, the observed intensity ratio of the two components is not consistent with the interpretation of the narrow component arising due to the strain field close to the surface.
