摘要
This paper deals with the behaviour of copper in aerated propionic acid solution and propionic acid solution under continuous saturation with pure oxygen. Corrosion damages and rates were measured by the Planned-interval Test. The effect of oxygen saturation in the solution was found to play a vital role in the corrosion rates and damages. The corrosion rates and damages were determined by the loss in mass of the copper specimens. The temperature of the solution was always maintained at 30 degrees C. The following experiments were performed on copper: Case 1, effect of 10% aerated propionic acid solution; Case 2, effect of 10% oxygenated propionic acid solution; Case 3, effect of 15% aerated propionic acid solution; Case 4, effect of 15% oxygenated propionic acid solution. The toss of mass of the copper specimens is reported as corrosion rates and damages. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
