摘要
The requirements of vibration serviceability are traditionally ensured by dynamic analysis and acceleration limits proposed by human vibration standard (HVS). Bias and uneconomic designs would be introduced by direct application HVS to civil engineering structures due to the disadvantages existed in HVS. A new design methods based on annoyance rate model (ARM) was proposed to overcome these problems and give more precise and economic answers. The disadvantages existed in HVS are pointed out followed by an introduction of ARM.
