摘要
Ethics review committees are getting more and more careful when it comes to the approval and authorization of projects in social and human sciences researches. This article aims to promote a theoretical discussion regarding ethical aspects of the researches in social and human sciences in Brazil, considering the prerogatives of the National Research Ethics Committee's (CONEP/CNS/MS) resolutions no 466/2012 and no 510/ 2016, using bibliographic research as a methodological procedure. Although these prerogatives are considered to be applicable to any knowledge field, the normatives do not encompass the specific methodological demands of social and human sciences. Thus, it is necessary to review the research ethics criteria, considering the particularities of the different knowledge fields as well as a review of the criteria used to compose the ethics committees, which must be formed by peers of related areas, preferably in a democratic and interdisciplinary perspective. The challenge is to broaden and democratize the debate, involving teaching and research institutions and government regulatory agencies, always understanding ethics as a guide to the scientific doing.
