摘要
Psychology is presented as a science of experience and behavior which originated primarily from medicine (Wundt, Ziehen, Brodmann, Freud) and which was and is able to incorporate relevant fields from other scientific disciplines - physics (psychophysics), philosophy, biochemistry, ethology, information science. Psychology is also viewed as a discipline which - especially during the last three decades - became increasingly internationalized. At the turn of the last century especially in the German-speaking area a science-oriented psychology evolved which attempted to explain basic mechanisms of behavior in humans and animals via exact observation, description and measurement. While some scientists of this epoch have always been regarded as "classics" in their field (e.g., Freud, Ebbinghaus, Brodmann in neuroscience), others have been re-detected only recently in the anglophone area and influenced German-speaking psychology from abroad.
