Two-dimensional Multiresolution Time-domain Analysis of Electromagnetic Scattering Based on Daubechies' Wavelet Basis

摘要
A new multiresolution time-domain (MRTD) method is applied to analyze electromagnetic scattering property of two-dimensional objects, and to calculate the radar cross section (RCS) of the objects. Daubechies' compactly supported scaling functions D-2, D-3 and D-4 with two, three and four vanishing wavelet moments are employed as spatial basis function to expand the field components in the MRTD scheme, respectively. And the dispersion relations of the two-dimensional MRTD methods based on D-2, D-3 and D-4 are studied. Compared the results obtained by the MRTD method with the traditional finite difference time-domain (FDTD) computed results and analytical Mie-series solution, it is found that the MRTD method based on Daubechies' wavelet basis can save considerable computational resources without loss of computational accuracy compared with the traditional FDTD method.
