摘要
Wireless caching at network edges (in user devices or in base stations) is considered to be a promising solution to alleviate backhaul overload in future wireless networks. Device-to-Device (D2D)-assisted caching emerges as an attractive option. Due to the nature of D2D communications, social networks and the characteristics within are intertwined with the challenges in mobile device caching, and it has become an active area of research. In this paper, we first introduce the structure and key concepts of mobile social device caching (MSDC), elaborating the connections and differences of it to traditional caching. Furthermore, we advocate several major areas of research challenges for MSDC, such as content placement, radio resource management and routing. Moreover, a demonstration is present to illustrate the modeling of the MSDC, and performance analysis is carried out to manifest its great potentials.
