摘要
Through studying the K-L transformation (Karhunen-Loeve transformation) theory deeply, it is found that the transformation matrix is too large to be used for the compression coding of ordinary digital images. In this paper, we propose the improvement and optimizing method for this problem, and use the Feng Yun No. 2 meteorological satellite cloud image to segment the image which is consist of different spectral bands. First, carry out the KL transformation for each small block and select the appropriate transformation matrix, then quantize its coefficients and the symbols are expressed by the symbolic binary number. Compressing the image by entropy coding and finally, according to the different transmission rate of different bands, the atmospheric radiation correction model is established and restores the real image as much as possible. The experimental result shows that when the covariance matrix of the source image sample sequence retains eight eigenvalues, the reconstructed image is almost the same as the original image, also the sharpness and the contrast of the image are increased after the atmospheric radiation model.
