The use of soft contact lenses in dogs and cats - four cases

Soft contact lenses are a less expensive and less invasive alternative to third eyelid flap, pedicle flap and tarsorrhaphy in dogs and cats. They are easy to use and make adspection of the cornea possible. Main indications are corneal ulcer, symblepharon, trichiasis, distichiasis, ectopic cilia, entropium, corneal edema and bullous keratopathy. Use of contact lenses in dogs and cats is described by example of four cases.
