摘要：
This article presents the results of the experimental investigation of two types of alternative fuel for diesel engines - rapeseed oil and methyl ester of rapeseed oil. The fast decrease of crude oil reserves and, consequently, the increase of the price of diesel fuel make really actual the need to elaborate non-traditional but in the same time efficient fuels. This study wants to answer the question if the two selected nonconventional fuels could be a successful substitution for the classical diesel. The work consists of two directions - analysis of the combustion process and of the exhaust emissions. The results were compared with the ones of the fossil diesel.
