摘要
Computations on the sandpile model lead to questions concerning discrete behaviors. It is shown that the original question has an answer which is not helpful for the study of sandpiles. A variation of the question, using periodic solutions, leads to better answers. These might have an interpretation for the study of sandpiles. (C) 2009 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
