摘要
Purpose: To evaluate patients with anosmia or hyposmia associated with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (Kallmann syndrome) by magnetic resonance imaging (MRT). Methods: Nine patients with clinical evidence of Kallmann syndrome were examined with MRI to evaluate the olfactory sulci and to determine the presence or absence of the olfactory bulbs and tracts. Results: The olfactory sulci were hypoplastic in eight patients. One patient exhibited dysplastic olfactory pathways. No patient displayed normal olfactory bulbs or tracts. Conclusion: MRT successfully displays the anatomic anomalies present in Kallman syndrome, and at this time appears to be the method of choice for evaluation of patients with Kallmann syndrome.
