Mechanical properties of P/M Al-Fe-Cr-Ti-Mm (Mm: Misch Metal) alloys containing quasicrystalline phase

摘要
The powder metallurgy Al(93)Fe(3)Cr(2)T(12)Mm(1) alloy has a mixed structure consisting of fcc-Al, quasicrystalline (Q.C.), Al13Cr2, Al13Fe4 and Al4Ce phases. This alloy exhibited good mechanical properties, i.e., ultimate tensile strength (sigma(UTS)) of 680 +/- 13 MPa, 0.2% proof strength (sigma(0.2)) of 670 +/- 10 MPa, plastic elongation (epsilon(p)) of 0.3 +/- 0.1 %, Young's modulus (E) of 91 +/- 3 GPa and Vickers hardness (Hv) of 230 +/- 3 at room temperature, and sigma(UTS) of 344 MPa, sigma(0.2) of 312 MPa and ep of 1.9 % after holding for 1000 hours at 573 K.
