摘要
The paper has been intended to define and determine the factor of safety Phi of a helicopter exposed to ground fire. The main object of the authors' interest is the helicopter's rotor blade spar. The concept presented below joins theoretical analyses and numerical calculations made with the finite element method. The stress state around damage caused by shot through was obtained. The technique of determining the factor of safety Phi has been illustrated with an example of calculations carried out for the Polish-made W-3 SOKOL helicopter.
