Gender mainstreaming is a tool, a strategy and one of the most effective means to achieve gender equality in all areas and at all levels. This paper is an empirical research that aims to present the most important gender mainstreaming legislative aspects at international level and how this concept is implemented in our national legislation. In order to achieve this, the legislation of other member states concerning this particular subject was reviewed. In the future, this study will be developed, in this issue a research will be conducted in some institutions where the presence of the female is moderate, so the benefits of gender mainstreaming will be discovered.
