Technical note: the rapid response of the Brazilian science to Covid-19 based on the study of arboviruses

摘要：
The Coronavirus-19 Pandemic (COVID-19) motivated the mobilization of the Brazilian scientific community in the search for its the cure and containment. The aim of this paper is to identify the profile of the rapid response of the Brazilian scientific community to the COVID-19 in the period running from January to April 2020. We examined scientific publications indexed to the Web of Science dealing with COVID-19. The results indicated a relationship between publications in this topic and previous ones dealing with arboviruses (e.g. dengue). We identified a quick response of the Brazilian scientific community to the challenge of COVID-19, particularly by research groups active internationally and with previous publications in arboviruses. Our results reinforce the relevance of public funding in the creation a national science base that is able to forge international links.
