摘要
In this paper, an optimal energy control of a 2 kW residential grid-interactive solar PV system, operating with a battery storage, is presented. A typical household within the city of Cape town, South Africa, is considered as a case study. The aim of the study is to determine the potential of energy cost saving the system could achieve under the new residential time-of-use and feed-in tariff available in South Africa. The simulation results show that the consumer can substantially reduce the energy acquired from the grid and realise a cost saving of 84 % in the summer and 58 % in the winter.
