摘要
In the present study, 8 wt% Poly (epsilon-caprolactone) (PCL) nanofibers and curcumin (CUR) loaded PCL nano fibers with CUR concentrations 1 wt% and 5 wt% were coated on AZ91 alloy using electrospinning technique. The samples coated with the nanofibers were characterized for its morphology and composition using scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction technique (XRD) and Fourier Transform Infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR). Uniform and beadless nanofibers were formed over AZ91 alloy for 8 wt% PCL and PCL/1 wt% CUR. The diameter of these fibers measured using Image J software were found to be 589 nm for PCL and 873 nm for PCL/1 wt% CUR. The FTIR analysis shows the incorporation of CUR in PCL/1 wt% CUR nanofibers. The contact angle measurement was also carried out to understand the nature of coating over AZ91 alloy. Potentiodynamic polarization was carried out in simulated body fluid solution (SBF) for 8 wt% PCL and PCL/1 wt% CUR nanofibers coated AZ91 alloy to understand its corrosion behavior.
