(E)-2-[2-(2,3-Dimethyl-5-oxo-1-phenyl-2,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-4-yliminomethyl)-phenoxy]acetic acid monohydrate

The title compound, C20H19N3O4 center dot H2O, has been synthesized by the reaction of 2-(2-formylphenoxy) acetic acid with 4-aminoantipyrine in ethanol. It comprises a 4-aminoantipyrine Schiff base and a water molecule. The dihedral angles made by the pyrazoline ring with the substituted and unsubstituted phenyl rings are 14.8 (2) and 58.1 (2)degrees, respectively. In the crystal structure, the molecules are held together by intermolecular O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H center dot center dot center dot O, intermolecular hydrogen bonds, as well as pi-pi stacking interactions.
