Reverse Spike Voltage Suppression in Rotating Rectifier of Aviation Two-stage High-voltage Direct Current Starter/Generator

摘要
During the starting and generating process, aviation two-stage high-voltage direct current (HVDC) starter/generator works in a high-voltage and large current condition. A large reverse spike voltage will be caused by the diode of rotating rectifier working in the reverse recovery process, which shortens the lifetime of diodes and increases the losses of system. This paper researches a simplified spike voltage snubber circuit for rotating rectifier according to mechanism of reverse spike voltage, and analyzes the effect of snubber circuit parameter selection on spike voltage suppression and the excitation current of the main machine. Finally, the RC parameters of a two-stage HVDC starter/generator are calculated, and the simulation results show that the simplified structure based on the selected parameters has obvious suppression effect on the reverse spike voltage of diode.
