The applications of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy in the phase analysis for the film

摘要
In order to supplement the XRD to determine the composition and possible phase composition of the film, the blackish-green passivation film on galvanized steel sheet was analyzed by XPS. XPS results show that passivation film consists of Cr, O, P, N, Zn and its composition is probably in the form of compounds including CrOOH, Cr(OH)(3), Cr2O3, ZnO, Zn-3(PO4)(2)center dot 4H(2)O, FeOOH, Fe(OH)(3) and Cr-2(SO4)(3). The appearance of sample is dark green with the uniform colour and soft brightness and it meets requirements of customer.
