Development and evaluation of a simulation-based respiratory pediatric nursing education program using SimBaby

摘要
This study investigated the developing of simulation scenario based acute respiratory pediatric nursing education program used SimBaby can effect an knowledge, skill and learning attitude after simulation based practical education and lecture for nursing students comprising of experimental groups (24 nursing students) and control group (23 nursing students) in simulation room similar to clinical situation. The experimental group was given with simulation education, while control group was given lecture education. Despite no difference beforehand between experimental and control groups, no statistical significant difference was shown in age, religion and academic records before the semester(p > 0.05). The average knowledge scores of the control group had statistically significantly increased (t = 2.56, p = 0.042), while the average skill (t = 3.48, p = 0.027) and learning attitude (t = 2.63,p = 0.031) score of experimental group had significantly increased. However, there was no significant difference in knowledge of the experimental group. This study demonstrates that simulation education can be effective for knowledge and skill of nursing students in simulation room similar to clinical situation.
