摘要
Single phase double perovskite Gd2NiMnO6 was prepared by conventional solid state reaction route. X-ray diffraction (XRD) result reveals that the compound possess monoclinic structure with space group P2(1)/n. Optical characterization performed at room temperature via UV-visible spectroscopy confirms Gd2NiMnO6 as a direct band-gap material with band gap of similar to 1.5 eV. Magnetization measurement in Zero field cooled (ZFC) condition at H = 100 Oe shows magnetic transition at similar to 125 K. Due to competing interactions between magnetic ions (Ni2+ and Mn4+), we could observe two magnetic transition below 40 K.
