Signed by Fr. Maurice Borrmans (‡ on December 26, 2017) and Michel Younès, this article develops two approaches to Muslim rites from a Christian theological point of view. It endeavors to show the theological reasons underlying the positive assessment that the Second Vatican Council makes of Muslim rites, in its Declaration Nostra Ætate § 3. It also highlights the major differences that prevent these rites from being considered as analogous to Christian practice. © 2019 Universite Catholique de Louvain. All rights reserved.
