What affects entrepreneurial intentions of high-school graduates in rural regions?

Policy makers and educator are interested in studies targeting factors influencing entrepreneurial intentions (EL) of young people in rural areas. Aim of the article is to reveal some of the factors influencing El among graduates in 120 high schools in Banskti Bystrica, Prefov and Zilina NUTS III Slovak regions, as well as possible educational policy implementations of our results. We conducted an empirical survey through questionnaires. The main results are that leadership as a career anchor and perceived support from family and friends are prominent factors explaining El among youths in rural Slovakia. These factors together with supporting and building up a desire for autonomy should be mostly developed within entrepreneurship education process of youth at high-schools in Slovakia.
