Crystal structure refinement of tetragonal BaTb2Mn2O7

摘要
The crystal structure of layered perovskite compound BaTb2Mn2O7 was analyzed for the powder X-ray diffraction data with the Rietveld method. The BaTb2Mn2O7 phase has the tetragonal symmetry, space group I4/mmm with unit-cell dimensions a = 0.3883(2) nm and c = 2.017(1) nm. The MnO6 octahedron was distorted along the c axis because of the Jahn-Teller effect of Mn3+.
