摘要
This study paying attention on to optimize the variable factors involved in the stir casting to found the corrosion rate for the Aluminium matrix composite such as aluminium alloy 7010 and reinforcement of boron carbide. The composites are produced by stir casting route with consideration of different process factors while producing the casting. In optimization the stir casting process parameters selected as percentage of reinforcement (3%, 6% and 9%), stirring speed (250 rpm, 500 rpm and 750 rpm) and stirring time (3 min, 5 min and 7 min). The specimens are made not only a single aluminium alloy adding different percentage level of boron carbide to improve and minimize the corrosion rate. For this research, the Response Surface Method (RSM) is used to optimize the corrosion resistance and attained best specimen for further application usage. All the factors and their values are analyzed by applying of statistical method using Minitab. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
