Laser cladding of Ni-Cr/Al2O3 composite coatings on AISI 304 stainless steel

摘要
Ni-20Cr/xAl(2)O(3) composite coatings were successfully produced by laser cladding. The microstructure of the coatings is composed of fine cells and dendrites. Most of the Al2O3 particles are distributed uniformly inside the cells and dendrites, and the remainder are segregated in the boundaries. The relationship between the laser processing parameters and the microstructure and Al2O3 content was studied. As the traverse speed of the sample increases, the Al2O3 content in the coatings increases, the microstructure is refined and the coating thickness is reduced. As the powder feed rate increases, the Al2O3 content in the coating and the coating thickness increase, but the microstructure and the distribution of Al2O3 do not change significantly.
