摘要：

The two-digit representation of years results in severe problems for the functionality of many information systems when the pear 2000 is approached. This paper summarizes the present discussion of the ''Year 2000 Problem'' and describes strategies and procedures for solving the problem. It discusses technical and management issues and presents empirical results. Furthermore, some consequences for theory and practice of information systems management are regarded.
