摘要:
Mild hypothermia reduces the risk of disability in infants with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy and adult survivors of out-of hospital cardiac arrest. This case report deals with a 3-year-old child who was treated with controlled hypothermia after accidental near drowning. Despite more than 10 minutes submersion and prolonged resuscitation the boy survived without any neurological impairment. Controlled hypothermia might improve outcome secondary to hypoxia due to near drowning.
