摘要
This work extends the poromechanics analytical solutions of hollow cylinders, the common laboratory testing geometry, from single-porosity and single-permeability to dual-porosity and dual-permeability following Biot formulations while using the mixture theory concepts. The cylinder is subjected to stress and fluid pressure variations representing typical laboratory testing procedures, yet the pore pressure responses in the medium exhibit dual and transient evolution. Results are plotted and compared with the corresponding single-porosity and single-permeability counterpart. In biomechanics and geomechanics applications, these solutions to date are non-existing however they are very much needed to simulate testing set-ups and characterize bones, cartilages, naturally fractured rock, and wood.
