摘要
This paper presents an in-depth field research where capability accumulation process is studied in four manufacturing organization. Research on manufacturing organization resources and capabilities is attracting an increasing interest in the field of manufacturing strategy. There is more than a hint, that resource-based view (RBV) can present a theoretical framework for manufacturing strategy research field. Despite all potential of RBV perspective some questions still remain. It has not been adequately explored how external environment and the level of accumulated capabilities influence the capability accumulation process. This research provides some answers that are relevant for theoretical development in the field of manufacturing strategy. One case study that contains a research sample is presented in the paper. Interpretation of the field research presented in the section Discussion is derived from multiple cross-case analysis.
