Experiences with secondary metallurgy processes.

The results of the trials in applying of some processes of secondary metallurgy in Sisak Steelworks are reported. The bubling with argon and nitrogen, the addition of granular desulphurizers, the injection and wire feeding of calcium-silicion were bested. The argon bubling and the desulphuration in the ladle gave the expected results. The effect of calcium addition was very variable because of the absence of deslagging. In the plant operation only the argon stirring was introduced. The application of other processes is connected with the restructurization of the primary steel production (stop operation of the open hearth furnaces and modernization of the electric arc furnace).
