摘要
This invited lecture describes recent efforts aimed at overcoming some basic problems of Plasma-Focus (PF) research, which have not been solved so far. In particular the lecture concerns the breakdown and formation of a current sheath (CS) layer, the appearance of current filaments and so-called hot spots within the PF pinch column. The pulsed emission of fast electron beams and fast ion streams from the PF-type discharges, as well as the optimization of fusion-produced neutron yields from PF facilities, are also considered.
