Interband Faraday rotation in Boron nitride nanotubes

摘要
We studied the Faraday rotation and then the Verdet constant in Boron Nitride nanotubes under the influence of an external magnetic field. It is shown that the rotation depends on the incident light frequency, diameter and the type of Boron Nitride nanotubes, e.g. zigzag Boron Nitride nanotubes with n odd have shown the maximum rotation and moreover the rotation has been happened in a special frequency. So under realistic conditions, the Faraday rotation should be clearly detectable.
