Chemical control of superparamagnetic properties of SnO2 diluted magnetic semiconductor

摘要
Structural, magnetic and electronic properties of Sn0.95Fe0.05O2, Sn0.90Mn0.05Fe0.05O2 and Sn0.90Cu0.05Fe0.05O2 nanoparticles synthesized by co precipitation technique are studied in detail with experiments and ab initio calculations. High blocking temperature is observed in Sn0.90Mn0.05Fe0.05O2 and Sn0.90Cu0.05Fe0.05O2 nanopaiticles. By ab intio calculation a direct correlation between the electron spin-orbital momentum (L-S) coupling and the superparamagnetic properties of SnO2 based diluted magnetic semiconductor was observed. Our results suggest that it is possible to control the superparamagnetic properties through chemical composition. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
