摘要
As one of the most important components in English teaching in vocational schools, writing is an essential ability for the students. "Writing is a vital way to express and communicate ideas via words and a process of learning about oneself and the world and surveying creative thoughts." states The New Program Standard. In English teaching, emphasis should be laid on training of listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities of students to improve their comprehensive capacities. Therefore, writing, as an important symbol of high comprehensive English qualities for students, plays a critical role in vocational schools. The training of students' writing has always been a great concern of vocational schools, and a focus of English teaching for vocational school teachers. Based on the status of English writing in vocational schools, the author proposes some suggestions to improve the students' writing abilities.
