摘要
Inductive Power Transfer (IPT) systems offer interesting features for potential users and will probably have a significant impact on the development of new portable electronic devices in the next decade. This paper presents a case study of a large gap inductive power transfer system by analyzing its simplified electronic model. The key elements in an inductive power transfer system are the transmitter and receiver coils. In this case, two coils that comply with the standard Qi were chosen to analyze and prototype the system. The results from the experimental characterization of the coils were used to simulate the electronic model including both primary and secondary sides of the IPT system. Furthermore, a prototype was built in order to validate the simulation model achieving successful results. Finally, the prototype of the IPT system was tested to check its performance at two large distances between the coils.
