摘要
We evaluated the applicability of coated conductors with copper fins to fault current limiters (FCLs). Copper fins can improve the recovery time of FCLs after normal transition caused by fault current. The estimation of influence of geometrical parameters of copper fins on the recovery time was discussed. For this estimation, the two-dimensional quench simulation model for coated conductors with copper fins was developed, and quench simulations were performed with different shape of copper fins. From these results, we chose one shape of the copper fins, and then performed an electromagnetic field analysis of coils wound with coated conductors with the copper fins, which compose an FCL, to calculate ac losses in normal operation.
