摘要：

Although passive distribution of ostracodes by high-altitude winds has been previously postulated (Angell and Hancock 1989, and references therein, Marmonier and Ward 1990, and references therein), this paper is an effort to subject the postulations to experiment. This report is based on the comparison of the weight of living ostracodes with the weight of volcanic particles distributed by high-altitude winds.
