The foreign languages in countercurrent of national educational language policy: the French teaching in Amapa

摘要
This paper discusses the effects of the new directions of the Educational Linguistic Policy in Brazil on the teaching of foreign languages in the state of Amapa, bordering French Guiana. This article proposes an evaluation of the Brazilian language policy in foreign language teaching through the laws that constitute and / or constituted the legal framework for teaching foreign languages in the last three decades, namely LDB 9394 / 96, Law 11,161 / 2005 and Law 13415/ 2017). Based on two qualitative and descriptive field research (DAY, 2005, 2013 and 2016), the article places its discussion in the field of Linguistic Policies (GRIN, 2005; CALVET, 1996; BEACCO, 2004) and points out the impacts of the changes promoted in the teaching of foreign languages in Brazil on the frontier region. It alsohighlights the emergence of a resistance movement promoted by civil society in favor of maintaining the teaching of the French language in the region of the Franco-Brazilian border.
