Structure and formation mechanism of the propargyl alcohol iodoplatinization product in the system Pt(IV)-I--H2O

摘要
Propargyl alcohol reacts with Pt(IV) iodide complexes in aqueous solutions at 10-15 degrees C, yeilding the product of Pt(IV) and I- addition to the triple bond, isolated as Pt-IV(CH=CI-CH2OH)(2)I-2(CH3OH), The sigma-vinyl ligands in the complex are situated in the mutual cis-position. The complex obtained decomposes at 80 degrees C, forming E,E-2,4-diiodo-1,6-diolhexadiene-2,5 and PtI2. The diene E,E-configuration points to the trans-addition of Pt(IV) and I- to alkyne act the iodoplatinization steps.
